How do you lift safely?

Lifting is often done in the workplace, so it is useful to know how to do it safely. According to the law, you may only lift a maximum of 23 kg for a prolonged period. If it is more, you will have to take it up with a colleague. Lifting goods correctly can prevent many complaints. For instance, you can prevent back problems.

But what is the correct lifting position?

Hold the object as close to your body as possible.
Feet firmly on the ground and slightly apart.
Sink into your knees and keep your back straight.
Do not lift too quickly, move calmly and gradually.
Is it too heavy? Then lift together with a colleague.


How not to do it

Do not lift with a bent back.
Do not lift higher than shoulder height.
Do not strain your back.
