What are you going to do?
As a Buyer of Plants & Decorative Materials in Boskoop, you are responsible for purchasing plants and materials for green arrangements. You ensure that the right products are available at the right time, under appropriate conditions, and in the desired quality.
You will be involved in, among other things:
- Purchasing plants, pots, baskets, decorative materials, and seasonal items.
- Drawing up purchasing plans and making long-term agreements with suppliers.
- Negotiating prices, quality, and delivery terms.
- Visiting growers and suppliers at home and abroad.
- Monitoring market developments, innovations, and price trends.
- Processing and verifying purchase orders and supplier data in Exact.
- Monitoring agreements, availability, and timely deliveries.
- Coordinating with Purchasing, Sales, Planning, and Production.
- Contributing ideas for improvements and further professionalization of the procurement process.
As a Buyer of Plants & Decorative Materials, you also play an important role during busy seasonal periods such as All Saints' Day, Advent, and Christmas. It is precisely then that good planning, up-to-date market knowledge, and clear supplier agreements are important. Experience as a floriculture buyer, plant buyer, purchasing agent, or category buyer is a good fit for this position.
About the employer
You will be working for the client in Boskoop, a family business active in the floriculture sector. The client owns approximately 32 hectares of nurseries, spread across locations in Boskoop, Bleiswijk, and Berkel, and focuses on the cultivation of plants and the production of green arrangements. Within the organization, cultivation, purchasing, sales, and production come together. In addition to plants, they work with pots, baskets, and various decorative materials, among other things. The working method is practical, and lines of communication are short. Boskoop is easily accessible from Alphen aan den Rijn, Gouda, Waddinxveen, Zoetermeer, and Bodegraven, among others.
Requirements
- You possess a higher professional education (HBO) level of work and thinking.
- You have experience within the plant sector and possess good plant knowledge.
- You have a commercial mindset and can negotiate persuasively.
- You work in a structured, analytical manner and maintain an overview.
- You have a good command of Dutch and English; German is a plus.
- You can work with ERP software and Excel; experience with Exact and Floriday is a plus.
What we offer
- A gross monthly salary between €4,200 and €5,500, depending on your knowledge and experience.
