What are you going to do?
As a Port Worker, you will work at a shipyard in the Port of Amsterdam on a unique green project. In this role, you combine logistical tasks with physical outdoor work. You are responsible for loading and unloading containers using a forklift and ensuring that materials end up in the right place.
Additionally, you will be involved in assembling and securing pear trees and other greenery on various structures. You will also work with rock bags, filling stones into nets and carefully finishing them. Safety plays an important role in this position. Therefore, experience working in a port environment or at locations where large moving machines are present is important.
This position is also a good fit for candidates who have previously worked as a dockworker, terminal employee, forklift driver, or logistics supervisor at an industrial location.
About the employer
For this position as a Port Worker, you will be working at the client's site at a shipyard in the port of Amsterdam. The location is easily accessible from Amsterdam, Zaandam, Amstelveen, Purmerend, and Haarlem. As the site has limited accessibility by public transport, a private transport service is preferred. The client is working on a large-scale project where logistics, landscaping, and practical execution come together. You will find yourself in an international work environment where safety and collaboration are paramount. Additionally, a catered lunch is provided daily.
Requirements
- Experience with work in a port environment or at locations with large mobile machinery
- Good command of the English language, Dutch is a plus
- Own transport to reach the work location
- Physically capable of performing outdoor work
- A forklift certificate is a plus.
What we offer
- Salary between €18.00 and €20.00 gross per hour
- Work week of at least 4 days per week
- Working hours from 06:00 to 17:00 or from 07:00 to 18:00
- A catered lunch every day
- 2-month project with possibility of extension
- Opportunity to continue working for another client via Apics Flexjobs after the project ends.
