Assistant team leader returns in Bleiswijk
What are you going to do?
As an assistant team leader in the returns department, you and your colleagues are responsible for all returning goods. These are often packaging containers with big bags or crates and empty containers. Because of the large work surface, you work together with the team leader and other assistant team leaders to ensure that the process runs as smoothly as possible. You will also work as a kind of cooperative foreman when busy. This is often in the morning between 9:00 and 11:00 am. You ensure that everyone is motivated to work and ensure that no one is hiding in the large work area. You are also the point of contact if unusual situations arise that require help. Together with the team leader and other assistant team leaders, you manage approximately 40 to 60 people and help the team leader to finalize the schedules. We work in 4 teams that work from Monday to Saturday. So you are free on Sundays, unless you have the first shift on Monday, because then you start working on Sunday evening.
Each team has a day off every week while the other three teams work, below is an example of the working hours:
- Team 1 | 5:15 to 2:45 | Total 8.5 hours.
- Team 2 | 1:00 PM to 9:30 PM | Total 7.5 hours.
- Team 3 | 9:00 PM to 6:30 AM | Total 8.5 hours.
- Team 4 | free.
You work an average of 37 hours per week but receive wages for 40 hours. It may happen that you work 34 hours one week and 46 hours the next. The work schedules are always known well in advance, but a supporting coordinator is expected to be flexible.
About the employer
The customer manages an extensive distribution center in Bleiswijk, which is easily accessible from cities such as Rotterdam, The Hague, Zoetermeer, Leiden and Westland. Every day, trucks full of dry groceries and fresh products leave this center for the stores, while return packages return to the distribution center. Thanks to the advanced mechanization within the center, the process is partially automated, which ensures an extremely efficient working method.
Requirements
- In good physical and conditional condition due to the significant distances traveled daily.
- Having your own transport is necessary, as working hours during shifts do not always coincide with the public transport schedule.
- Proficient in speaking and understanding English.
